Decide what another project will cost you

This October 2021 video discusses four criteria: return on effort, learning, shared ideas, and bottlenecks. Those criteria help you assess another project without assuming more projects are always better.

Write down the hours each active project needs next week. Include support, maintenance, and unfinished promises. For a new idea, name one skill you will learn and one useful connection to existing work. Then identify the task that will lose time if you start it.

A small experiment can answer a question without creating another ongoing business. Choose a review date and a stopping condition before starting. If existing customers wait longer or delivery slips, reduce the new project's scope.
