Use video at the step where someone needs help
Choose one onboarding action, such as completing a freelancer profile. Place a short walkthrough beside that action rather than asking users to search a separate video library. Show the required inputs and what a completed result looks like. Keep written instructions available for people who cannot watch the recording.
Use the following suggestions when planning your own onboarding. An onboarding video does not ensure more signups or fewer support questions. Measure completion and questions before and after the change.
Test one onboarding step with someone unfamiliar with the process, then revise the confusing part.
