This is an advanced tutorial on how I use Webflow, Airtable and Parabola to calculate a score for each freelancer on my freelancer marketplace that determines their ranking on my website. Make the ranking explainable

The original lesson discusses a ranking score, a message-score change, Webflow sort order, and a daily Parabola sync. The example below uses illustrative weights. It is not Unicorn Factory's original formula.

Suppose your approved inputs are profile completeness and qualified enquiries during the last 30 days. Define completeness as a fraction from 0 to 1. Cap the enquiry count at 10.

Example score = 40 × completeness + 6 × min(qualified enquiries, 10)
Freelancer A: completeness 1.0, enquiries 3 → 58
Freelancer B: completeness 0.5, enquiries 6 → 56

Keep missing inputs separate from confirmed zeroes. Flag incomplete records for review instead of silently penalizing them. Use a stable freelancer ID as a final tie-breaker after any published business rule. Set a refresh schedule and display when scores last updated.

Do not expose private enquiry details in the public CMS. Sync only the approved score and sorting fields. Before applying a new score, compare the top results with manual review. Check whether newer freelancers have a fair opportunity to appear. Use qualified-lead measurements to evaluate usefulness alongside ranking changes.
