Track the trial lifecycle

A trial-ending email needs current account state. A delay alone cannot tell whether the customer upgraded. This historical lesson uses Airtable for state, Zapier for updates, and MailerLite for the email sequence.

Start the sequence when a valid trial starts. Recheck status immediately before the ending reminder. Suppress the reminder after an upgrade, cancellation, or unsubscribe. Check MailerLite's workflow rules for conditions, delays, and group changes. Removing a subscriber from a trigger group depends on the workflow's continuation setting. Inspect that setting rather than assuming removal cancels every queued email.

Record a unique reminder key before allowing retries to send again. After a timeout, inspect provider activity before rerunning the send step. Test with your own address: an expiring trial, an upgraded trial, an unsubscribe, and a repeated trigger. Decide whether the message is marketing or service-related using the email tool guide.
