MailerLite or MailerSend? Match the Tool to the Email

Choose by the message's purpose
Marketing emails promote an offer or maintain a subscriber relationship. Transactional emails support a requested action, such as a purchase receipt or client enquiry notification. Sending one email instead of a bulk campaign does not define the category. A welcome sequence can still be marketing even when signup triggers it.
In my original setup, MailerLite handled updates for freelancers and sequences around signup or trial expiry. MailerSend populated individual templates with information from a Webflow contact form. Airtable stored the information, and Zapier moved it into the email workflow.
Keep the original selection criteria
I wanted a visual email editor and a useful Zapier integration. Those criteria let me design messages and map Airtable data without building a separate email interface. Pricing helped my historical decision. Compare current limits using your expected contacts and send volume.
I previously used Gmail through Zapier for individual messages and observed delivery problems in my setup. That experience does not establish that every Gmail automation fails or every transactional provider reaches the inbox. Check delivery events and recipient results for your own workflow.
Build one enquiry template
MailerSend's current personalization uses double curly brackets rather than the older variable syntax described in the transcript. An illustrative template is:
Subject: New project enquiry from {{client_name}}
Hi {{freelancer_name|default('there')}},
A client sent a project enquiry through your profile.
Project: {{project_summary}}
Contact: {{client_email}}
Map those variables from the actual enquiry record. Check the intended freelancer recipient separately from the client email. Use a permitted test address while testing. Do not let user-entered addresses select arbitrary recipients. Store the enquiry identifier and provider message identifier so a retry does not blindly resend.
For the full delivery setup, use the MailerSend lesson. For a planned marketing sequence, review the trial-ending workflow. The reader's consent and the message's purpose still determine which path is appropriate.
