New members should prove they control their email address before entering your private membership area.

The original 2021 recording used separate membership types and automation. Memberstack 2.0 now documents native verification modes.

Choose the verification mode

Strict mode blocks unverified members from gated content. Lenient mode supports verification reminders without the same access restriction.

Choose strict mode when verification must precede access. Configure a verification page and a resend action using the documented setup.

Check existing members before changing the mode. Previously unverified members can lose access when strict mode begins.

Email verification proves control of an address. It does not prove payment or permission to read every record.

Check the required plan and record ownership in your private data service. Avoid treating a browser redirect as the only protection.

Use a test member and an email address you control. Confirm the unverified member cannot enter the gated page directly.

Open a valid verification link and confirm the member’s verified state. Check access again after reloading and logging back in.

Test a used or expired link and the resend action. The old link must not grant another account access.

Check a logged-out visitor and a verified member without the required plan. Keep each denied state clear to the user.
