How To Create Membership Sites in Webflow

Memberstack adds account and membership features to a Webflow site. It is one option for this work.

The original recording shows my early Memberstack setup. Its screens and API names may differ from Memberstack 2.0.

Plan the account experience

Decide which pages are public and which require an account. Define free access, paid access, and member-owned records separately.

Create the required plans in Memberstack. Install its current Webflow script and add the documented signup and login attributes.

Set the signup, login, and denied-access destinations. Check the current Memberstack documentation before copying older code.

Protect the content and data

Configure gated pages for the intended plans. Test a direct page URL as well as links inside the member interface.

Memberstack visibility attributes let you change which elements members see. They do not authorize access to a private API or publicly reachable file.

Use a trusted service to verify the member and record ownership before returning private data.

Visible custom fields can be edited by members. Do not use those fields as trusted role or payment evidence.

Test the account states

Use separate test members for each plan. Check signup, login, logout, account recovery, and direct gated-page access.

Test a member without the required plan and a logged-out visitor. Confirm neither receives the private material.

If access depends on payment, use a test billing setup. Verify successful payment, failed payment, cancellation, and access removal.

Add email verification when you need proof of address ownership.
