They collect payment. You still need a process that delivers the correct purchase after confirmed payment.
Create a test link
- Open a Stripe sandbox or test environment. Confirm that you are not creating a live payment link.
- Create a test product and price. Check the currency and whether the price repeats.
- Create a Payment Link for that price.
- Check the checkout details and required customer information.
- Choose the confirmation message or return page.
Follow Stripe's Payment Links guide for current setup options. Do not use a real card in the test checkout. Stripe's testing guide provides test payment methods.
Test checkout and confirmation
Open the test link as a customer. Confirm the product, amount, currency, and recurring terms. Complete a successful test payment. Check the matching Checkout Session and payment in Stripe. Test a failed payment too. It must not trigger delivery.
For a subscription, check the customer and subscription records separately. Plan how cancellation and renewal failures change access.
Deliver each purchase once
A return page does not prove payment. Customers may close the page before returning. Use a verified Stripe webhook and inspect the Checkout Session's payment status. Delayed payment methods require their later success or failure events. Store a delivery record keyed by Checkout Session ID. A repeated event must not deliver the purchase twice. Stripe's fulfillment guide explains this flow.
For a small service pilot, manual delivery can work. Check confirmed payment in Stripe and record that delivery occurred.
Add the link to your website
Once the test succeeds, create and review the live product, price, and link separately. Add the link to a clearly labelled purchase button. Explain delivery timing before the customer pays. For other purchase types, compare Webflow payment options.
Start with one test product and verify payment, failed payment, and duplicate delivery handling.
